China is a fascinating territory, with millennia of traditions and a strong artistic sense. The Chinese cinema, which its early days distinguished itself for stories spoken in a simple
and elegant language, pointing to what Gianni Amelio called “the effects of the heart”, was later distinguished in his evolutionary history by approaching an intimate cinema,
a new Wave of epic movies, highly spectacular, where special effects became an uplifting and structural moment of narrative.
In order to celebrate these two souls, in the Cinelab will be screened the movie “Wolf Totem” by the famous french director Jean-Jacques Annaud and two immortal chinese masterpieces “2046″ directed by Wong Kar-Wai and “Rise the Red Lantern” (Dahong Denglong Gaogao Gua) in their original version with Italian subtitles.
